Embrace the Unforeseen: A Design Journey into Chaos
Unveiling 'Tout est Chaos': A Creative Summons
Pli office, under the vision of paf atelier founder Christopher Dessus, has initiated a global call for submissions for its 'Tout est Chaos' exhibition. Scheduled to coincide with Paris Design Week from September 10 to 13, 2026, this exhibition seeks to redefine chaos not as a destructive force, but as an energetic catalyst for innovation, giving rise to novel forms, narratives, and opportunities. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2026.
'Tout est Chaos': Cultivating a Platform for Emerging Artists
Organized by Pli office, 'Tout est Chaos' aims to showcase a diverse array of contemporary works that push the boundaries of conventional order and functionality. Participants are encouraged to interpret the theme through a wide range of mediums, including furniture, objects, material explorations, collectible designs, installations, and interdisciplinary practices. Hosted at the historic La Gaîté Lyrique as a key component of Paris Design Week's city-wide programming, the exhibition offers selected participants an invaluable opportunity to present their creations to a global audience of design professionals, curators, collectors, media, and the general public.
Eligibility and Submission Criteria for Aspiring Creatives
This open call welcomes students in design, architecture, and art, as well as young designers with less than five years of professional experience. To participate, applicants must submit one object per designer, studio, or collective, complete the online registration form by June 30, and select a phrase or slogan that best encapsulates their approach and their submitted piece. A registration fee of €6 is also required.
Detailed Application Process and Key Dates
Aspiring participants can access comprehensive submission guidelines, detailed participation instructions, and eligibility criteria through the official registration platform. Projects will undergo evaluation by a panel of experts in design, architecture, and contemporary art, with the results slated for announcement on July 6, 2026. The exhibition will be held in Paris, France.
