Charli XCX Debuts New Tracks from 'Music, Fashion, Film' at Intimate Brooklyn Show

Instructions

Charli XCX recently unveiled several tracks from her anticipated album, 'Music, Fashion, Film,' during an exclusive concert in Brooklyn. Held at the more intimate Music Hall of Williamsburg, a stark contrast to her previous arena tour for 'Brat,' the performance marked the live debut of songs like 'Playboy Bunny,' 'SS26,' and 'Camera,' offering fans a fresh taste of her evolving sound.

The evening was further enhanced by special guest collaborations. Underscores, who will be supporting Charli XCX on her upcoming 'Music, Fashion, Film Tour,' joined her onstage for their song 'Music.' Later, Kim Petras made an appearance to perform 'Jeep,' and the surprises concluded with Clairo delivering a rendition of 'Sofia.' Shifting focus from her 'Brat' era, the setlist heavily featured new material, including the unreleased track 'Take Away the Music' and album closers 'Wink Wink' and 'Rock Music,' with 'Apple' being the sole 'Brat' era track performed.

The 'Music, Fashion, Film' album is slated for release on July 24th. Despite the title of its first single, 'Rock Music,' Charli XCX has clarified that the album does not adhere strictly to the rock genre. In a recent interview, she expressed her non-binary approach to genre, stating that she and collaborators A. G. Cook and Finn Keane simply create music without rigid categorization. Following another small performance in London, Charli XCX is set to perform at major festivals, including Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Reading and Leeds, before her 'Music, Fashion, Film Tour' officially kicks off in September.

This event underscores an artist's continuous journey of creative exploration and expansion, embracing new sounds and collaborations while staying true to her unique artistic vision. It exemplifies the vibrant and dynamic nature of contemporary music, constantly pushing boundaries and engaging audiences with fresh, innovative experiences.
