Wednesday saw the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) send a Long March 12 rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Site, deploying nine satellites for the SatNet broadband constellation. The flurry concluded with a Kuaizhou-11 rocket, managed by a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, launching two Earth-observing radar satellites from Jiuquan.
While these launches highlight China's current operational prowess, they also hint at deeper aspirations. None of these four rockets attempted a landing, yet China is actively pursuing reusable rocket technology. Significant strides have already been made, with the successful first-stage landings of LandSpace's Zhuque-3 and CASC's Long March 10B in recent months.
